I secretly hope they get a happy ending somehow as well, but I think Gil is probably going to die at some point (or worse). Their bond is deep and strong, but Gil's obsession and the recent chapters . . . Yeah, tragedy it is.

One of the reasons I started to love Pandora Hearts was the whole relationship between Oz, Alice and Gil. They complement each other so well, and I mean, I love the plot and the rest of the cast, but they just ping me especially hard. I don't know how to explain it right now, but it's mostly because of what you said. I think it's almost canon and I adore the way Alice and Oz work, and the way Alice and Gil fight with each other and how Gil reacts around her. And the bond and co-dependency between Oz and Gil are one of the things that pings me the most, probably. I love that scene when Oz explains what Alice means to him, too.
